Whether you visit the Costa Blanca during the summer or winter months, you will enjoy the mild Mediterranean climate. The highest average temperature in August is around 26° Celsius, although the temperature can reach as high as 40° Celsius during this month. In January the temperature is a pleasant 11° Celsius. The sun shines for approximately 3,000 hours per year and the period March to December has the most sunshine. The climatic differences between the coastal area and the countryside are very small, but the regions of high altitude have stronger winds, more rain, and lower temperatures in winter.
